- Day to day management of engineering and SMART team, including driving the performance management process and devising personal development plans for team members
- Ensure engineering function is aligned at all times with operations team and other support functions
- Actively contribute to regional initiatives, innovations, design solutions and the creation of regional standards and ensure deployment once established to team
- Actively engage with other engineering teams to ensure best practices and processes are shared. Contribute the development of a collaborative one engineering mentality across region
- Act as key interface with customer on development projects and issues where engineering support is required
- Support in the creation of innovative and best practice solutions to new business opportunities or client requests
- Continually monitor and review headcount plan versus actual to ensure alignment is maintained at all time between model and running operation
- Ensure appropriate controls and approval processes are strictly enforced for process and infrastructure changes
- Develop, plan, manage and ensure effective delivery of engineering elements of BPI / future projects, Continuous improvement initiatives and Site launches
- Organize and/or attend customer/internal meetings to help ascertain Engineering requirements as required by plant management
- Ensure department metrics and reporting are produced and developed to satisfy senior management requirements on time and in full
- Develop and deliver long term engineering strategy to ensure continual development of function and the delivery of best practice solutions
- Proven exposure of leading an Engineering service within Manufacturing/Automotive/Logistics/Supply chain environments
- Proven exposure of delivering various engineering solutions within a fast paced and challenging business arena
- Lean and Six Sigma practitioner
- Strong Methods Time Measurement (MTM) experience and training
- Experience in Value-Stream Mapping (VSM)
- Possess strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel, & PowerPoint. Familiarity of AutoCAD would be an advantage.
- Strong project management and operational experience
- Strong leadership and change management skills.
- Strong demonstratable utilisation and application of LEAN methodologies “5 Why’s”, “Fish Bone” etc
