This Senior Management Accountant role involves working across the Group, ensuring the quality delivery of month-end and year-end accounts preparation, supporting a strong control environment, and enabling clean audit reports.
Based in Trafford Park, the successful candidate will be a qualified CCAB registered accountant.
Role Overview
The duties and responsibilities of this Senior Management Accountant role involve:
- Leading on Management Accounts, P&L, intercompany, control accounts & balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigating and commenting on key variances between budgeted and actual performance, proposing corrective action as appropriate.
- Monthly reviews of the financial performance with the general managers.
- Accurate and timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts for the UK company and international subsidiaries, including intercompany reconciliations across all entities.
- Managing journal postings to make adjustments where required at month-end.
- Preparing and submitting external reports (VAT, ATOL return, and insurance renewals).
- Keeping up to date with accounting standards and compliance requirements across the processes.
- Proposing business improvement and efficiency initiatives as appropriate.
- Improving end-to-end accounting processes by consulting with other finance teams and the wider business.
- Supervising and guiding Management Accountants and finance assistants.
- Overseeing the accounting operations of your team's responsibility.
- Ensuring financial controls are applied consistently.
- Assisting in providing technical leadership to the finance team and the wider business.
- Managing and supporting audit queries alongside the Finance Team.
- Liaising with auditors to resolve queries in association with your remit.

Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience gained in a similar environment
- Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA or similarly recognised accounting qualification.
- Experience with working to tight deadlines.
- Proven experience in leading a successful team.
- Proven experience in taking ownership and responsibility.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment with excellent communication skills.
Desirable Skills
Previous experience in Group Consolidation is beneficial.
