The successful candidate will manage their own portfolio of SMEs and sole traders, ensuring high-quality financial services along with managing the wider team.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage a portfolio of SMEs and sole traders, providing comprehensive accounting support.
- Oversee billing processes and ensure accurate invoicing for clients.
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff members, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Conduct thorough reviews of bookkeeping records in Xero and VAT returns to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Prepare statutory accounts for a variety of business structures including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
- Compute corporation tax and offer tailored tax advice to company directors.
- Handle correspondence with clients and regulatory authorities such as HMRC and Companies House.
- Draft personal tax returns for sole traders and company directors.
- Engage in ad hoc project work, applying expertise to special financial tasks as needed.
- Proven experience within an accountancy firm, with a minimum of 2 years managing a client portfolio.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an emphasis on developing client relationships.
- Experience in managing and training junior team members.
- Proficiency in Xero and a solid understanding of VAT and tax regulations.
- Ability to provide accurate and timely financial advice and services.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
