We are seeking an interim Management Accountant to take on the financial management and administration responsibilities for our client based in the Ayrshire area. This role is ideal for a professional who is adept at preparing monthly management accounts, maintaining high standards of internal control, and providing insightful analytical reports to senior management.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Prepare monthly management accounts with appropriate commentary, ensuring they adhere to acceptable accounting practices and are delivered promptly
• Oversee the accuracy of accounting systems, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash-flow management, and financial ledgers
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations as part of the management accounts review pack
• Review and update the financial management system to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving business, including the future implementation of SAP
• Serve as the first point of contact for annual audit queries
• Generate analytical reports for senior management and participate in monthly management meetings
• Liaise with the Accounting Department at the corporate level, preparing specific reports as needed
• Collaborate on the preparation of annual budgets with directors and corporate partners
• Assess the commercial viability of capital expenditure projects and new business opportunities
• Drive the implementation of opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
• Support other members of the Finance team and handle various tax-related tasks
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven experience in financial management and administration
• Strong knowledge of accounting practices and internal controls
• Experience with financial management systems, SAP knowledge is a plus
• Ability to prepare detailed analytical reports and participate in high-level meetings
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with various departments
