Senior Manager – Balance Sheet Strategy

Are you a Senior Manager in Balance Sheet Strategy looking for a new opportunity?

We’re looking for a Senior Manager to take functional Ownership of YBS’ Balance Sheet strategy. You’ll define the target Balance Sheet shape to support the appropriate risk / reward position and ensure the long-term sustainability of YBS. This role is a hybrid role based in our Leeds city centre office.

About the role

• Take functional ownership of YBS’ Balance Sheet shape through appropriate senior stakeholder engagement.

• Define and manage the ongoing development of strategies to support the financial sustainability of YBS.

• Ensure alignment between Commercial activity and the Balance Sheet strategy.

• Work in conjunction with Treasury on the development of the Liquid Asset Portfolio investment strategy that aligns with the target Balance Sheet shape.

• Be accountable for the financial sustainability framework and ensure that financial plans and forecasts are aligned with both long-term sustainability as well as target Balance Sheet shape.

• Develop the “strawman” Balance Sheet shape for use in financial planning / forecasting process.

• Definition of the Balance Sheet Strategy Management Information (MI) reporting framework ensuring that appropriate quantity and quality of MI is provided at Board, Group Risk Committee, Executive Risk Committee and ALCO

• Scan the external environment to ensure that ongoing regulatory developments and industry best practice are factored into management practices.

About you

• Expert knowledge of Balance Sheet Management principles.

• Knowledge of Treasury risk management practices and principles.

• Strong understanding of financial markets and associated product pricing methodologies.

• Excellent knowledge of Retail / Commercial product offerings.

• Good understanding of stress testing, scenario analysis.

• Understanding of the concepts of sustainability, mutuality and member value.
