Terms: Full time, Fixed Term Contract for 12 months Closing Date: 5 July 2024 - 12:00  Interview date: w/c 29 July 2024  It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where the successful candidate can work from home and the office. However, as this role is contractually aligned to our Milton Keynes office it is expected that some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs. We’d expect this to be approximately 6 times per year. Part time hours of 30 hours and above will be considered. The Academic Services (AS) unit has around 1,200 staff and sits within the Professional Services Portfolio, under the leadership of the University Secretary. We are responsible for the operational delivery of an outstanding support service to the Open University’s students, wherever they are, and whatever their circumstances. We work in close collaboration with colleagues across the University, and in particular, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor – Students, the OU Student Association, the Executive Deans of the four Faculties, and colleagues in MarComms, Learner and Discovery Services, and IT. The role   The Open University is recruiting a Senior Manager, Data & Insight with the primary purpose to provide a strategic perspective on Academic Services business intelligence and management information and drive improved business performance. The post holder will provide expertise on Unit performance management, including the reporting of the Unit’s performance against a range of indicators to measure its progress in achieving operational business objectives and the Unit Business Plan. The post holder will ensure alignment with the OU’s strategic objectives, success measures and targets.   Skills and experience Undergraduate degree / equivalent, or work experience at a comparable level, in a subject with a strong mathematics or statistics element Strong practical ability to analyse, interpret and present complex information effectively, and to take a lead role in advising and developing other colleagues in these skills. Proven ability to understand complex business questions and play a key role in the development of a coherent analytical framework which delivers insight into performance. Ability to tell simple and persuasive stories, using the outputs from data analysis, that answer complex problems.
