You'll join us within Homes, part of the Consumer Lending business. Our Homes team focuses on delivery of lending to UK borrowers, enabling first time buyers to get on the ladder and those already on it to keep moving. As a key driver of the Group growth strategy, the Homes business is driving a multi-year transformation of relationship lending.
The Direct Customer Journey team is on a mission to grow our relationship mortgage channel, reimagining our colleague and customer journeys. These changes, supported by new innovative products and propositions will help us attract new valuable customers, as well as retain and deepen our existing customer relationships. At the forefront of contributing towards the growth of the relationship channel, we're integral in developing journeys that meet all our customer's home needs.
This role offers real opportunity to create and deliver new propositions, which meet direct customers' needs. Using excellent collaboration skills, you'll be building a strong internal and external network and using customer insight and market analysis to devise innovative solutions that support relationship customer growth.
As a Senior Manager, you'll set the strategic direction. You'll utilise your experience to build a compelling roadmap that can be shared with stakeholders across LBG to build support for our longer-term plans and highlight our desire to drive meaningful outcomes via effective prioritisation.
With the intrinsic link between product and pricing, you'll also work closely with the Pricing Team to analyse market conditions and assess current product performance to make data-driven recommendations as well as forming the basis for new market opportunities.
Given the pace of the market, you'll have the drive and skills to lead a strong performing team working on multiple priorities. Key accountabilities will include:
- Lead the team responsible for designing new, strategic propositions for direct customers.
- Build and maintain the Homes proposition strategy for the Direct Channel, considering all available levers across segment, product, brand, or connected product holdings.
- Analyse commercial performance, including P&L, conversion and market data to drive insight and form the basis of new ideas.
- Maintain a strong network and collaborate across key partners to develop and launch new concepts, whilst actively influencing others to drive improved performance in the Direct business.
- Provide oversight of key governance papers, ensuring the storyboard is logical, well considered and appropriately socialised to achieve the support required.
- Foster creativity in the team, coaching and developing colleagues to maximise their contribution and potential.
- Proactive project management of team priorities, including the maintenance of an effective programme plan, and clear articulation of risks and dependencies.

What you'll need:
- Strategy Propositions development and management - significant experience in setting and delivering propositions strategies, with a strong background in launching new propositions within Financial Services, utilising the expertise of stakeholders and partners to ensure a smooth delivery.
- Customer and market insight - adept at using customer research, strategic insight and external market connections to aid creation of innovative propositions that meet customers' needs.
- Analytical skills - Comfortable using analytical tools to examine and manipulate data to form recommendations, build business cases and assess product launch performance.
- Commerciality - experience in building business cases that have contributed to significant commercial outcomes
- Team Leadership - you've coached, managed and developed others and are accustomed to empowering teams to deliver.
- Agile Delivery - experienced in using project planning techniques to lead multiple deliveries concurrently, prioritising activity, and planning for areas of particular difficulty and uncertainty.
And any experience of these would be really useful:
- Detailed knowledge of Mortgages, including a clear understanding of customer, market, conduct, regulatory and competitor trends is highly desirable.
We'll also be looking for you to show robust judgement in making commercial decisions, that consider both the short and long-term implications of the change, and you're able to communicate that in a compelling way. A clear logical problem solver, you own evidenced based decisions, with the supporting controls and documentation in place. And you're able to assess risks and controls, demonstrating timely identification of issues and embedding control by design capabilities.
