Are you currently working in a tax investigation or dispute resolution role? This opportunity could be the one you’re waiting for. You will be a qualified tax professional (CTA or equivalent) with substantial experience in practice at managerial level or above. You’ll be great in front of clients and be happy to get involved in business development to assist in the growth of the company.
Founded in 2009 and comprising a team of ex-Big 4 tax specialists, my client has a strong reputation for offering boutique and bespoke private client services to HNW and UHNW clients, in the UK and internationally. Upholding values of integrity, professionalism, and excellence, they are looking to grow their Manchester team as part of a planned growth and expansion program.
You will have experience of dealing with HMRC Tax Investigations and inspections either for HMRC or for a private practice assisting on the client side of the dispute world. You will be comfortable speaking to clients to propose solutions to their problems and to provide guidance and support through the entire process. Experience in COP8 and 9 investigations, time-to-pay arrangements, alternative dispute resolutions, tribunals, disclosures, and the intricacies of the HMRC operating procedure would be extremely advantageous to my client. Experience in both private client and corporate tax affairs would be highly valuable for this position given the variation in the cases you’ll be working.
Our client places huge emphasis on training and developing all staff, and there is potential to gain additional qualifications to further your personal and career development. This is not the sort of environment where you are clock watched on billable time, you are trusted to get on and manage your own diary. Ideally, you will be based within a commutable distance to their hotel-like offices in Manchester.
From a salary perspective you will be looking at between £65,000 – 75,000, standard holiday allowances and pension. You will be expected to be office-based for 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for 2 days once your probationary period has been completed. There is also a contracted bonus scheme in place offering 10-20% of billed revenue on top of your basic salary, paving the way to earn close to 6 figures.
