We are searching for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Arden Hills, MN! The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead continuous improvement initiatives, new product integration projects, and will provide daily support to the production floor to ensure that product, processes, material, and equipment meet the (Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost) business goals and objectives. This individual will be required to routinely partner with cross-functional and cross-site teams (Production, Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Process Development, Supply Chain, etc.) to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes within the business unit.

 

This specific role will support production ramp and rebranding activities for an existing product line including problem solving processes to understand what is needed to meet desired production ramp requirements and interfacing with divisional project management teams to implement rebranding efforts associated with product relaunch under a new trade name.


Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Works cooperatively with R&D, Electronic Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing on complex projects to ensure project success.

  • Consistently generates innovative and unique solutions to complex problems of diverse scope to meet department goals.

  • Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine as well as project assignments and maintain project schedules.  

  • Successfully completes complex engineering work and contributes to new product development teams and product support, typically including the following activities: technology development, test of materials or products, preparation of specifications, Six Sigma, process study, process improvements, and report preparation.

  • Selects process improvement techniques to solve technical problems and makes sound equipment and process recommendations. Has a broad knowledge of a variety of alternatives and their impact on the business unit.

  • Designs and coordinates applicable engineering tests and experiments.

  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from complex test results.

  • Designs and prepares engineering reports and communicates results to the technical and leadership audiences.

  • Coordinates, manages, and documents project goals and progress and recommends appropriate revisions.

  • Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment.

  • Leads cross-functional project teams.

  • Leads in the identification, implementation, and management of Business Unit goals and actively contributes to development of Business Unit’s multi-year strategy.

  • Interacts cross functionally and with internal and external customers.  Serves as a consultant for engineering or scientific interpretations and advice on significant matters.  Acts as a spokesperson to internal teams on business unit current and future capabilities.

  • Capable of training team members, including engineers, technicians, and product builders on specific tasks. Participates in the development of junior staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline 

  • 5+ years of experience related to manufacturing, process, or electrical engineering.

  • Strong experience solving advanced technical problems using engineering essentials/problem solving processes.

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and deliver business results in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

  • Experience using Minitab software

  • Proficiency with MS Office 

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree

  • Experience mentoring peers/lower-level engineers/techs and indirect project management preferred

  • Medical device or highly regulated industry experience preferred

  • Highly collaborative, with strong written and verbal communication skills, adjusting for audience requirements – able to communicate with divisional partners about complex tasks and projects.
