What you'll be doing:
You will play a key, and pivotal, role in leading a team whose primary focus is to sell and / or provide internal supply support for 1.5M tonnes / £164M of recovered commodities (multi-fractional, recyclable raw materials) annually, covering over 280 Veolia sites and contracts and over 220 customers.
Our Materials Sales Department has responsibility to advise Veolia's U.K. business on the quality of various secondary raw materials (including ferrous, non-ferrous metals, the full range of recovered paper grades and textiles), manage internal supply support for ~440kt pa // +£30M pa of recovered materials and from across the UK to a range of end-user customers throughout the U.K.,Europe and Asia - all of whom are ecologically and environmentally compliant as well as financially stable - to recover, recycle, reuse or manufacture new products from.
The team are also responsible for the application and administration of Veolia U.K's Environment Agency domestic and export reprocessing accreditations (£5.5M pa).
Reporting directly to the Materials Sales Director, the purpose of this role is to understand and monitor changing (multi) material markets & competitor developments, to continuously develop market analyses and nurture sales strategies via both internal and external networks across the recovered metals and paper industries, providing regular but relevant updates to the U.K business.
What we're looking for:
- Considerable experience within the recovered metals and paper recycling industries - business / commodity sales / international markets / global supply chains.
- A profound knowledge of domestic and international waste regulations, product and market compliance, with a strong interest in recycling, wastes management or related industries.
- A profound knowledge of recovered metals and paper grades, transformation processes and possibilities.
- Strong interpersonal traits, with excellent organisational and time-management skills and proven experience of communicating / negotiating at board level within the metals, paper making and retail sectors.
- A proven / demonstrable track record in industry networking
- A dynamic approach, with the ability to cope with a fast paced, pressurised working
environment, willing and able to travel - both domestically and abroad. - Advanced level literacy and verbal communication skills.
