My client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their experienced team near Bristol for an exciting contract opportunity.
The team in Bristol consist of extremely experienced and passionate Mechanical Design Engineers, responsible for developing Mechanical Designs using SolidWorks and expertise in Composite Materials for the Aerospace/Aviation industry.
Please note: You do not need to have current/valid SC Clearance to work on this contract project!
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Design: Create and develop Mechanical Designs for various projects, considering functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- CAD Modeling: Utilize industry-standard CAD tools to generate detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for components and assemblies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including electrical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of Mechanical Designs into overall project objectives.
- Analysis: Perform engineering analyses to validate and optimize designs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Prototyping and Testing: Participate in the prototyping and testing phases, providing support to identify and resolve any design-related issues.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including design specifications, reports, and manuals.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in Mechanical Design, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or a related industry.
- CAD Proficiency: Proficient in the use of industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse teams.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and deadlines.
