SalaryThe successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be reporting to the New Product Development Team Leader, working as part of the NPD team in the design and development of colour ID card printers and related Brady products.
The role will involve:
- Creating innovative product/Mechanical Design concepts and converting these into robust 3D CAD models, focussed mainly on injection moulding.
- Producing test requirements to validate new designs.
- Producing manufacturing data, technical drawings, and Bills of Material to support the product development cycle.
- Providing occasional technical product support for the ID printer range, including troubleshooting, cost reduction and efficiency improvements as required.
To be successful in this role of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
- Degree qualified, HNC/HND or equivalent through experience in a Mechanical Design role.
- Electro-Mechanical Design.
- Design for injection moulding, sheet metal, machining.
- Ability to work independently off own initiative or as part of a project team to deliver novel or patentable ideas.
- Self-motivated with a practical hands-on approach to design and problem solving, using statistical analysis and proven engineering techniques to quantify and validate solutions.
