My client is a design company that prides itself on delivering exceptional solutions across various industries. Their technical team is the driving force behind their success, and they are currently looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to their legacy of innovation.
Day to day of the role:
- Creatively solve complex Mechanical Engineering challenges within product development.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of design, functionality, and aesthetics.
- Lead and manage specific project work packages while mentoring junior engineers.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, presenting technical solutions with clarity.
- Uphold technical excellence in your work, with guidance from senior engineers when needed.
- Embrace new technologies and methods within the Mechanical Engineering and product development landscape.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a Senior Mechanical Engineer role.
- Must have experience in the medical sector (automotive is a bonus)
- A 1st or Upper 2nd class degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven experience in product design or development, with a strong grasp of CAE tools and computational techniques.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant CAD systems.
- Knowledge of prototyping and high-volume manufacturing processes, such as injection moulding.
- Leadership skills and a proactive “can do” attitude that inspires and drives the team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Right to work in the UK by the start of employment.
- BEng or MEng degree preferred.
- More recent graduates will need to have a 2:1 will need to demonstrate strong A-level results, including an A in Maths and Physics.
- Experience in team management and client-facing roles, with strong presentation skills.
