Senior Medical Central Gas Systems Engineer

My client is a market leader in Medical gas system, based in Diss they're recruiting for a Senior Product development / Design Engineer on a staff basis.

The role:

The role will work with sales and product management teams develop current product lines and new product lines.  The role will also lead on major key projects to quote, design, develop and manage equipment and specific projects through to production and installation of the necessary equipment for new and refurbished hospitals.

The position is crucial in sales process and development of new equipment developing or expanding the product range

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and development of pipeline equipment, including valve boxes, manifolds and distribution systems
• Design and development of source gas equipment including compressed air systems, vacuum systems and control equipment
• Sourcing of key equipment including air compressors, vacuum pumps, valves, control boxes
• Consulting with sales and customers to develop technical solutions for Medical Central Gas Systems
• Provision of cost quotations and bid documentation
• Specification of Medical Central Gas Systems and components
• Design and development of systems and components as project/market needs are identified
• Technical review of products
• Drawing review and approval
• Liaison with back office team for all drawing and technical support requirements
• Supplier product assessments
• Oversight of production schedules for major projects
• Managing installation and commissioning

Experience:

- 5 + years in medical device design and manufacture

- Knowledge of rotating equipment

- Regulatory & Quality requirements for medical devices and Central Gas Systems in Europe and US (NFPA, FDA, HTM and CE)

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
