We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to work in our Community CAMHS Team as a Youth Justice Liaison practitioner.
This role involves working with young people who have been referred to the Youth Justice service through police and/or court process. They will often be experiencing a wide variety of Mental Health difficulties sometimes with complex social situations and neurodevelopmental challenges.

This role will include proactively and collaboratively working alongside the young person and other agencies to support exploration relating to their Mental Health, instigating Mental Health assessments and providing interventions.
Alongside this, the role will include consulting and referring on to and/or co-working with specialist services i.e. U-Turn, health, Early Help, where this is deemed necessary, in line with clinical governance standards and referral criteria within CAMHS.
The post will have a focus on supporting trauma informed and case formulation approaches to assessment, planning and Interventions and will provide risk support approaches where the child is not yet ready to engage in direct therapeutic interventions with CAMHS.
This role will have a primary focus in our Outreach services, but we would welcome discussion on any interest in opportunities to contribute to our Hospital Liaison services and also our core CAMHS services.
The main duties of the job are:
Comprehensive triaging and assessment of children and young people presenting to the Youth Justice service.
Shared formulation and care planning
Multi agency working including CAMHS consultation.
Delivery and/or oversight of collaborative treatment plan using evidence-based interventions
Collaborative risk management
Support, supervision and CAMHS-specific training to colleagues
Being part of the on-call rota covering out of hours contact from professionals.

We have good professional support in our service and pride ourselves on prioritising regular joint professional meetings between Swindon CAMHS and the Youth Justice Service to which the successful candidate can be a part of and will include regular team safeguarding supervision and joint clinical/case management supervision.
