Senior MI Analyst - Insurance
The Role:
- Responsible for playing a lead role in analysing, interpreting and reporting on management information (MI) data to identify trends, provide insight and assist senior management in key decision-making processes.
Key Activities:
- Perform a lead role in the MI team. This will include coordinating team activities, assessing workloads, prioritising projects and assigning tasks to the team as required to ensure high quality output and adherence to strict deadlines.
- Produce and analyse large monthly MI data sets for multiple clients.
- Create regular reports based on client requirements.
- Complete complex ad hoc data analysis requests for clients.
- Clearly describe and explain data analysis to both clients and management. This includes verbal and written formats.
- Support the Claims Handling and Administration teams with relevant data and expert analysis as required.
- Play a key role in influencing and streamlining claims handling processes, operational spend and client outcomes.
- Identify data issues and proactively seek appropriate resolutions.
- Work towards streamlining operational processes and improving controls.
- Participate in any internal or external training as required, including CII/CILA qualifications. The company will cover the cost of all training fees but reserves the right to claim back some or all of the costs should you leave the company within a certain timeframe (as stipulated in your contract of employment).
- Manage diary to ensure optimum use of time and resources, meeting all agreed deadlines.
- Ensure all activities abide by all relevant legal requirements, industry guidelines and company standards.
- Actively participate in team discussions to highlight issues and promote group learning.
- Aid in the training and professional development of the Graduate Operations & MI Analyst.
- Perform other tasks as reasonably required by Head of Operations or Senior Management.
Skills and Experience required:
- Proven track record in data analysis within the insurance industry, ideally with a background in claims management. Experience in the Latent Defects Insurance sector and/or underwriting preferred.
- Demonstrable ability to take a lead role within a small team and effectively manage internal relationships.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills. Able to effect interpret, analyse and report on complex data.
- Experience of IT systems including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- Experience working on Claims Management Portal Systems required (specific training on company system provided).
- Experience working on interactive data visualisation software required, MS Power BI preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Able to quickly build positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Well organised with excellent time management skills.

- Bachelor degree (preferred), with GCSE English Language grade 5/C or equivalent.
- Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate in Insurance (Level 3) (preferred).
