Senior Network Engineer

Sopra Steria's Government and Transport sector are currently on the lookout for a Senior Network Engineer to join an impactful team working across a variety of unique projects in the public sector. This is an excellent opportunity with varying responsibilities from being the escalation point for junior members of staff to working on exciting projects making recommendations and improvements to large scale infrastructures. One of the most exciting aspects of the opportunity is the chance to get involved with Cloud Networking using (Primarily) AWS and Microsoft Azure.

What you'll be doing:

• Evaluate and enhance the performance of our managed network infrastructures.
• Administer IT resources and networks, including user access, service quality, security, network systems, and telecommunication setups.
• Provide advanced (Tier 2) support in line with our service level agreements.
• Mentor a team of Network Engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

What you’ll bring:

• Understanding of network security principals and basic network principles including: Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, Load Balancing, Routing, Switching WAN & LAN technologies, Telephony and WiFi.
• Familiarity with fundamental cloud networking concepts, including cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), network security measures in cloud environments, virtual networks, cloud connectivity options, and the principles of managing and integrating cloud networking solutions with existing on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience with technologies including:
  Firewalls Palo Alto/ Fortinet/ Juniper/ Checkpoint/ Meraki
  Web Application Firewalls F5 ASM
  Load Balancing F5 LTM
  Routing and switching Cisco Catalyst / Meraki / Aruba
  WiFi Meraki / Aruba
  Security Cisco ISE / Telepresence / 802.1

It would be great if you had

• Experience of Public Cloud Platform platforms (AWS, Azure)
