Job description

The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) drives ambitious economic and societal transformation for the benefit of people, nature and climate. With a rapidly growing global Network of over 40,000 executives, innovators and change-makers we are looking for a candidate that can deliver an ambitious engagement plan whilst project managing the development of a visionary strategy for the CISL Network.

The Senior Network Manager is a key role in the 'Audience and Network Engagement Team', which includes CISL's marketing and insights function. You will lead a team of three or staff directly (and many more indirectly), supporting the engagement of our global CISL Network. Engagement activities will include planning and managing our ambitious events schedule, building communities within the Network based around our core impact goals, and working with our Communications team to develop and disseminate thought leadership.

In addition, you will also project manage the enablement and delivery of our approved network strategy, which includes a new continuous professional development and on demand learning, a digital membership portal, and new models for the network to engage with the work of the Institute.

This role is Fixed Term until 22nd January 2025, or until the return of the postholder, and is to cover a period of maternity/adoption leave. We are looking to appoint to start as soon as possible.

Key duties:

• Oversee the development and delivery of our Network engagement strategy.• Community development of key members and sections of our Network.• Network events management and delivery, working with Communications to build a strong pipeline of 'agenda setting' events. • Line management and team wellbeing/ talent development.• Project Management of the internal development of the Network strategy/vision.• Planning and budget management.

Key skills and experience:

• Senior engagement and project management experience with proven ability to lead strategy development and implementation in the following areas: o Community buildingo Content and eventso Digital publishing and new mediao Design and delivery of influential events for high level participants such as CEOs and government leaders • Significant project management experience, with ability to manage budgets, stakeholders and multiple deadlines. • Commercial outlook and experience in a membership organisation. • Experience of digital systems such as web, social media or CRM platforms.• Understanding of, or interest in, CISL's content area of business and sustainability. • Ability to manage a team and portfolio of activities.• A confident and clear communicator. • Enjoys a fast paced, externally facing role.
