This post is full time (35 hours p/w) and open ended.
The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 573 years, and today we are one of the world's top 100 universities. We are delighted to have recently been awarded Scottish University of the Year by the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024, demonstrating that we are not only one of the best universities in the United Kingdom, but one of the best universities for the world. Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers.
We are recruiting a Senior Operations Manager to work within the Research Services Directorate at the University of Glasgow. This role, reporting to the Executive Director of Research Services, will be primarily responsible for managing and advancing operations and projects across the Directorate.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working with people, garnering different perspectives to inform continuous improvement projects, and excels at putting ideas into action. Experience in an operations management role, exhibiting leadership qualities and supporting staff to succeed, is important.
You will join a dynamic team of research professionals in the Research Services Directorate. Our team is creative and collaborative, and we are committed to working together and with colleagues across the University and externally to ensure a positive environment for people, and research endeavours, to thrive. We are also passionate about our profession and developing research professional staff careers.
We work in partnership with the Vice Principal for Research & Knowledge Exchange. Much of the implementation of the research strategy is by working in collaboration with colleagues across the four Colleges and University Services. We also work closely with the Vice Principal for Economic Development & Innovation. Working collectively across research and innovation ensures researchers are set up for success.
This role will be based on the Gilmorehill campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.
