Job Description
Senior Operations Securities Settlements - Project Accountabilities
- Leads and drives all key components of the GLOSS Single Stock Ledger project, on behalf of operations including managing the analysis, business requirements, testing requirements, defining operating model and deployment of the end-to-end solution
- Overseas operations delivery workstreams that span across operations functions, and partnering with Front Office, Finance/Product Control and Technology to define requirements.
- Directs and manages day-to-day activities to ensure that the project successfully delivers against a defined schedule and in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Escalates any potential risks or issues that could result in deviation to the schedule to senior management on a timely basis.
- On behalf of operations supports the creation and implementation of effective project governance across the project (Feeding into Steering Committees, Working Groups etc.).
- Partners with the European Head of Settlements & Clearing to understand the business requirements and define the future operating model. Provides support in the business as usual processes where needed during the lifecycle of the project.
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
- Project delivery requires partnership which spans across Front Office, Operations, Finance, Risk and Technology.

Senior Operations Securities Settlements - Project Education / Experience / Other InformationThis position is diverse and complex and the incumbent requires:
- strong experience of Securities Settlements and the impact of systems change on the operations function.
- a high level of management skills;
- understanding of economic and political conditions and how they may impact the Bank's operations;
- ability to undertake analysis and make reasoned decisions based upon available information and to balance multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities;
- ability to project manage large and small scale changes;
- good accounting and business knowledge of the products supported by the operation groups
- good knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment in the UK; and
- good judgment and the ability to work with minimal
Required Skillset:
- Established Operations experience with deep knowledge and experience in managing and transforming Operations teams, specifically Securities Settlements
- Excellent product knowledge and front to back processing of Stock Borrowing & Lending and Equity Repo with understanding of best in class operating model.
- Experience in delivering large and complex projects spanning several functions in financial services (i.e. Front Office, Operations, Finance, Risk, Technology etc.).
Additional beneficial skillset:
- Knowledge/experience of GLOSS settlement system.
- Prior experience in implementing the GLOSS Stock Borrowing & Lending (SBL) module.
- Knowledge/experience of FIS Global - Global One - securities borrowing and lending system.
