Our client, an international law firm, are seeking a senior construction paralegal to work out of their Manchester office on a permanent basis. This is an incredible opportunity to work within a leading law firm and gain invaluable experience. The salary on offer is up to £32,500 depending on experience and the firm offer hybrid working.
Responsibilities
- Preparing, reviewing and potentially negotiating documents including building contracts,(JCT and NEC forms of) consultant appointments, collateral warranties, novations, deeds of assignment and notices of assignment
- Reviewing construction documentation to prepare due diligence reports
- Day-to-day matter management
- Arranging and managing execution of documents (in hard copy and/or using DocuSign)
- Assisting in large transitioning projects for clients. This may include (a) working with contract automation solutions, (b) assisting in the development and management of online workflow solutions (c) effectively managing substantial document amendment exercises
- Conducting general legal research
- Data room management including uploading documents, redactions, and project management
- Management of documents including sorting, reviewing, categorising, redacting, bundling, indexing, uploading, filing
- Other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as dictated by the business and client needs
- Interacting with stakeholders, being confident in flagging spare capacity to fee earners, being proactive in networking with the Practice group and helping to identify areas where paralegals can assist
- Playing an active role in the wider team; participating in team meetings/discussions and supporting the Team Lead with supervision of more junior members of the team
Requirements
- Previous Paralegal experience or equivalent specialising in Construction and Infrastructure is essential
- Experience of working in a large commercial law firm, understanding of the levels of service delivery required and building relationships with lawyers
