Job description

Are you an experienced Payroll Officer looking to expand your knowledge into wider finance functions? Do you want to work in a supportive and caring environment that values the wellbeing of all their employees? Looking to utilise your vast skillset in processing payroll from start to finish to make your mark in an established public sector organisation? If yes, read on!

Robertson Bell are excited to partner with this fantastic public sector organisation as they go to market for a Senior Payroll Officer on a permanent basis. Do not miss out on this fantastic opportunity to work within a collaborative team and assist in a large payroll of over 2500 employees.

In this Senior Payroll Officer role, you will:

  • Oversee day-to-day payroll administration, including inputting promotions, new starters, and processing leavers' payments.
  • Manage additional payments, such as rewards, and handle the calculations for tax, National Insurance, and pensions.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries and manage maternity pay, sick pay, unpaid leave, or leave of absence.
  • Conduct regular payroll runs, including a monthly cycle for two separate payrolls (one for 2000 employees and another for 250-300 employees in a subsidiary).
  • Administer four different pension schemes, ensuring compliance with both manual and auto-enrolment requirements, and participate in ad hoc projects as needed.

Based in North-West London, this role is being offered on a hybrid basis, requiring you to go into the office just one day a week, making it the perfect opportunity for an individual looking for a great work-life balance. The successful candidate will have access to fantastic employee benefits such as a generous pension, a competitive annual leave allowance and additional wellbeing perks.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A competent Payroll Officer with at least three years’ experience working in a payroll role and a background processing payroll from start to finish.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritise workloads and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • CIPP qualified or can demonstrate a thorough understanding of payroll from their extensive experience in the field.
  • Coming from, or be eager to join a public sector organisation.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the vacancy may close early if the ideal candidate is found. To avoid disappointment, apply now.
