If you're a Pensions Administrator or Senior Pensions Administrator and you're looking for a technically-focussed role - whereby you can get into the depths of the calculations work and project work that we perform relating to the Defined Benefit schemes for our clients - then this would be an ideal role for you!


To be a match for this role, we're looking for individuals who have a proven background in Defined Benefit Pension scheme administration. You should be detail orientated, enjoy the intracacies of administration and calculations work, and be able to deliver to deadlines and mentor others in a much wider, productive, engaging team.


This is a hybrid role; based in our Ipswich, Bristol, Manchester or Edinburgh office 3 days a week, and then working from home the remaining 2.


A further breakdown of the role is as follows:

  • To undertake project work for occupational pension schemes in accordance with contracts to the required standards and deadlines.
  • Responsible for the service delivery for a portfolio of projects including the checking of work plus responsibility for up to 2 staff.
  • Carry out project tasks in accordance with project criteria, internal processes and company policies, adhering to procedures and standards regarding work and conduct.
  • Drafting of non-standard correspondence and reports.
  • Checking of standard correspondence and reports.
  • Analysis and interpretation of scheme rules and actuarial instructions
  • Ensure errors and complaints are handled effectively and in accordance with agreed process.
  • Assist team members as required
  • Check and authorise other Senior Project Analysts and Project Analysts work.
  • Attendance at Trustee and ad hoc client meetings when required.
  • Assisting the client account manager with any documentation they require with carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Ensure client work is processed accurately and in a timely manner within target dates.
  • Prioritise work to ensure Service Level Agreements for each project are maintained.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support senior staff with implementation of them.


What we're looking for...


As mentioned, we are after someone with solid Defined Benefits administration experience; ideally 3+ years, with at least 1+ of that spent checking the work of others!


You will also need to have a logical approach to problem solving, be competent with the processing and analysing of bulk data and information and the ability to prioritise workloads with conflicting importance; keeping to deadlines, agreed service levels and disclosure requirements.
