A leading provider of acute healthcare for vibrant East London is now looking for a qualified Pharmacy Dispenser to join their pharmacy service team as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer.

As a Senior Assistant Technical Officer, you will work as part of an experienced, forward-thinking technical team (Pharmacy Technicians and Technical Officers) to maintain the safety and efficiency of the hospital s pharmacy services at an operational level. Rotating across dispensary services and distribution/stores areas, you can expect normal duties to include:
ensuring the safe, secure storage of medicines, devices & sundries at adequate stock levels;coordinating the replenishment and recycling/disposal of pharmacy products;dispensing activities, i.e. accurately assembling, labelling, and dispensing individual prescription requests (inpatient, TTA and outpatient); andcontributing to quality improvement projects, including team training, streamlining and automating processes, so that high pharmacy standards can be maintained. The hospital has a number of exciting projects currently in progress and you will be able to help implement the use of automated medicines cabinets in all clinical areas (Omnicell). You will receive thorough training to undertake top-up services, assist with maintenance, and support the nursing staff using the new system.
There will be substantial opportunities for training and CPD within the hospital pharmacy field so previous hospital-specific experience is not essential. Experienced Level 2 Pharmacy Dispensers from a community or primary care background are encouraged to apply.
This is a permanent pharmacy dispensing / technical support position, ideally full-time (37.5h) although part-time and other flexible options can be considered.

(Essential) NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services Skills / Level 2 Certificate in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Support Staff / equivalent qualification in dispensing services(Essential) Previous experience within a high-volume pharmacy environment(Desirable) Previous hospital pharmacy experience
