Senior Philanthropy Manager

** Flexible location - UK based, with travel to London office c.12 times per annum (self-funded) **

This charity is an international charity dedicated to empowering women and girls living in poverty across 45 countries in Africa, Asia, and America. Their mission focuses on:

• ending violence and discrimination against women and girls
• fighting poverty and inequality
• building resilience to climate change
• promoting women’s leadership and participation
• campaigning and advocating for gender equality and social justice at local, national and international levels

Their approach is community-led, meaning they work alongside local people to identify their needs and develop solutions that are sustainable and culturally relevant.

Their successful philanthropy programme has a host of highly committed givers, some having given for more than 30 years. We are looking for a Senior Philanthropy Manager to cover a maternity leave in the team, to take over a portfolio of committed, dedicated donors giving at the 5-figure level up to £40k, totalling £260k/yr. This is a wonderful portfolio to manage and would look fantastic on your CV after the contract ends.

As Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will: 

• Focus on stewardship and looking after the existing donors, which is key this year (although if someone had time to look at new business in addition this would be greatly welcomed)
• Manage a warm portfolio, where there are a few gifts due early this year, which will be a great boost to the incumbent’s target, and other committed givers expected to give at some point in the 12-month period

Ideal skills and experience: 

• An experienced philanthropy fundraiser with a track record of making asks and developing relationships
• A relationship-led fundraiser, keen to meet with donors and strengthen the donor’s commitment to the charity
• Experience soliciting 5-figure donations from individual donors
