Location: Based at the Christie charity, Manchester with remote working flexibility
Salary: £39,096 - £50,056 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Charity People are pleased to be partnering with The Christie Charity to recruit a Senior Philanthropy Manager to join a vibrant, passionate team and support the development of their major donor strategy.

About the Charity

The Christie Charity supports the renowned Christie hospital ensuring cancer patients receive the highest level of treatment and care. Patients have access to world leading research and technology, ensuring the best possible experience and outcomes. This funding provides over and above what the NHS can provide.

Some brilliant key projects have included building a new scanning centre, further researching breast cancer, and redeveloping the radiology department. As well as this, funding supports the treatment provided to cancer patients, including complementary therapies, bringing local blood testing closer to home for patients, and providing wigs to patients whose treatment causes hair loss.

About the Role

An important part of the Christie's funding comes from high-net-worth individuals who support the charity on a long-term basis. As Senior Philanthropy Manager, your role is to maximise charitable income through building strong and authentic relationships with these HNWI's. With some lovely campaigns and events in the pipeline there will be lot's of opportunity to really develop your portfolio of donors.

You'll also be responsible for developing the major donor strategy, with the support of the Head of Philanthropy. This role will involve lots of collaboration, including with the wider philanthropy team, in order to deliver successful fundraising initiatives to reach your targets. You'll also be involved in planning and monitoring a programme of fundraising events and activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have significant major donor/philanthropy or corporate fundraising experience or equivalent sales experience. You'll be a strong leader, with exceptional emotional intelligence and negotiation and networking skills as well as being an excellent relationship builder who can identify and generate ways of maximising income.

You'll have experience with managing budgets and targets and will be confident researching using a diverse range of printed and IT sources. Most importantly, you will be committed to the charities' aim of providing the best possible care to cancer patients before, during and after their diagnosis.
