Location: Abingdon/Hybrid
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

At South and Vale District Councils we are recruiting three Senior Planning Officers to support our busy service, two within the Majors team and one within the Enforcement team.
If you are looking to take a step up and progress your career as a Senior Planning officer this is an excellent opportunity to expand your experience in a busy and forward-looking planning service.
You will work with the team leader and principal Planning Officers to successfully deal with a range of related planning applications, enforcement, appeals and contribute to policy work. The work within the major applications team will focus on complex applications including assisting with strategic and large development sites. The enforcement work will relate to more complex cases including appeals work and public inquiries.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join our team, who have a strong customer service ethos and these essential qualifications:
• a degree in a planning related discipline, or relevant qualification or equivalent level of experience
• at least five years post qualification planning experience and some experience of working in a local authority planning service
• hold a full and current driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
• eligibility for full RTPI membership or in the process of applying for full membership
