This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cardiff Market team, working within Cardiff Councils Economic Development / Strategic Estates Department.
Cardiff Market is a Grade II* listed building in the heart of the city centre which see's circa 3,000,000 visitors per annum.
This is an exciting time to join the market with the planned £6.5 million restoration of the property, you will be a key part of managing the tenants/public during the works.
About the job
This role involves the following but is not limited to:
1. Leading the team of porters in their daily duties.
2. Dealing with market tenants
3. Dealing with members of the public
4. Ensuring cleaning of the market is carried out to a high standard
5. Ensuring H&S of the market
6. Weekly rota's for the team ensuring there is cover during holiday/sickness periods
7. Weekly reporting to market manager on any issues
8. Involvement in PPDR's, porters training, etc
9. Opening and closing of the market building

We are looking for someone with the following:
1. Good communicator
2. Strong leadership skills
3. Available to work flexible working patterns/overtime
Additional information
Shift Patterns
Monday to Saturday (5 days per week) excluding any overtime
6am-2pm / 8.00am - 4.00pm / 9.30am - 5.30pm
6 x Sundays per annum for 'Free Sundays' to allow tenants maintenance/cleaning.
Some Sundays in December when market opens 7 days per week
