Role purpose:
Vodafone Partner Markets is an extraordinary and exciting growth business with Vodafone’s Group Business organisation. The consumer segment is the dominant source of revenue and profit for almost all of Vodafone’s Partner Markets. This role is in the Partner Markets consumer function, which works with Partners to develop their consumer businesses, growing top-line revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction. To achieve this, the Partner Markets consumer team has a broad set of capabilities typical of a Vodafone local market Consumer Business Unit, including segment marketing, customer value management, terminals, brand communications, customer experience, distribution, retail and digital.
This role leads our complex, transformative and high impact proposition development, segmentation, pricing and product-related programs at our Partners. It ensures that we successfully apply for impact in our engagements Vodafone’s unique value propositions: the knowledge and experience of Partner Markets, Group Functions and OpCo experts, the blueprints, best practices and shared services of the Vodafone network. The role is accountable for impact delivery, typically >EUR 5m per project, hence leading the propositions- and products-related engagements not only from process/project management point of view, but predominantly ensuring high quality content/impact delivery.
Building on the success of the engagements and the strong relationship developed with key partner markets experts and C-level stakeholders, this role is also accountable for business development, i.e. identifying incremental initiatives with high value potential for our Partners.
It’s an extremely wide-ranging role, which requires both breadth and depth of consumer commercial and product experience, strategic mindset, ability to communicate effectively with C-level executives, strong collaboration, and pragmatic application of resources, skills and experience.


Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

1.Building trusted partnerships with C- and D-level
  • We are building trusted partnerships – you will be owning the relationship with the segment, product and pricing heads (C-level direct reports)
  • You will be leading regular exchanges with partners to understand their challenges and new opportunities and support them in problem solving
  • You will demonstrate thought leadership in propositions and pricing area
2.Opportunity identification and sizing
  • You will be driving in a standalone way the process with the local partner markets’ propositions teams to identify the value at stake in various segments and products (based on a local assessment, benchmarking with Vodafone initiatives and impact) and scope joint programs
  • Develop strategic document summarising our recommendations and present/discuss it on ExCo level
3.Impact delivery
  • You will be accountable for impact delivery through our programs in scope. These programs typically include:
  • e2e transformation of our partner’s consumer tariffs and propositions (incl. convergence portfolio)
  • launch of segment-specific propositions (e.g. youth sub-brands)
  • launch Vodafone products in our Partner Markets (e.g. CIOT, Vodafone TV)
  • Negotiate projects, statements of work and value measurement KPIs with Partners, typically at CxO level
  • Secure direct, indirect and 3rd party resources for individual delivery activities
  • Deliver projects to time, cost, EBITDA impact and Partner satisfaction (measured by our proprietary Partner satisfaction metrics)
  • You will be expected to ensure the engagements are incepted and executed through the partner market framework
4.Thought leadership
  • You will need to stay ahead of the curve – tapping into the vast experience we have in Vodafone Group and OpCos, you’ll have to stay up to date on what are the leading, highest impact use cases, insights and capabilities
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
  • Telecoms strategy or consumer commercial experience in-market (ideally segment management, pricing or product lead) or as an engagement manager/principal in top-tier management consulting
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, confident with CXO audiences.
  • Strong communicator and storyteller
  • Senior stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to deliver complex, high impact engagements in a multi-stakeholder environment

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Telecoms strategy or consumer commercial experience in-market (ideally segment management, pricing or product lead) or as an engagement manager/principal in top-tier management consulting
  • MBA preferred

Key performance indicators:
1.Yearly revenue and value creation for the Partners
2.Partner Markets Delight Index (PMDI)
3.Management of the assigned budget and resources (allocated per engagement)
