Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience working in fast paced manufacturing, leading teams of up to 200 colleagues, and closely working with Senior management, Executive Board, Technical, engineering, commercial and supply chain teams

To be considered for the role as Senior Production Manager, you will also have demonstrable experience of:

  • Making efficiency and cost improvements in a manufacturing set-up
  • Experience of Extrusion
  • FMCG
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Proven experience in lean manufacturing
  • Strong leadership

In your new role as Senior Production Manager:

  • Maintain and promote safe working practices and environment.
  • Plan and organise production schedules in assessing project and resource requirements.
  • Estimate and agree budgets and timescales between clients and on-site managers.
  • Overall responsibility for NPI and scheduling of product launches.
  • Achieve production targets that meet budgeted requirements with regard to quality, customer service and running procedures.
  • Contribute to the bi-weekly planning meeting in order to achieve weekly production and engineering requirements and plan them into an effective working pattern.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of productivity results against budgeted targets.
  • Supervise and motivate staff and complete Shift Manager reviews.
  • Supervise all subordinate staff covering motivation, morale and performance.
  • Maintain the budgeted staffing levels by recruiting personnel within the current company recruitment procedure.
  • Oversee that discipline is maintained within the shift.
  • Develop Shift Managers to manage and control their individual areas of responsibility through development.
  • Liaise with the Engineering department and affected staff to maintain maximum productivity.
  • Ensure materials are managed effectively, by closely monitoring scrap production and stock movement.
  • Develop and implement world class manufacturing best practices, reinforcing LEAN manufacturing principles at all levels.
  • Maintain and monitor product quality within ensuring BRC standards are achieved.
  • Deputise for the Site Director, as required.
