The Technology Senior Programme Manager is a senior leadership role within Technology. This role involves the delivery of major technology programmes and projects that are critical to Primark's strategic objectives.
The Technology Senior Programme Manager is accountable for setting the programme framework, overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of programmes and projects that are aligned with Primark's significant technology initiatives and business goals. This role involves providing strategic leadership, managing resources, financial management & governance, whilst ensuring the efficient and effective execution of these technology programmes.

What You'll Do:
In your role, you'll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here's a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Provide leadership/guidance to cross-functional teams involved in programme delivery; motivate team members towards achieving project goals while fostering a collaborative work environment. Lead and foster effective communication channels across teams / departments involved in the major projects within the portfolio.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for technology major programmes, aligning them with the organisation's long-term objectives. Developing and maintaining a comprehensive programme plan, including defining objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Programme Oversight / Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of major technology programmes, from initiation through execution to closure, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements. This could be at a portfolio level with multiple accountable delivery teams, or at a programme management level for major complex programmes.
- Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources, including project managers, technical teams, and budgets, to ensure successful programme delivery.
- Risk Management: Proactively, identify potential risks and issues associated with technology programmes and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Monitor and manage dependencies, ensuring effective coordination between projects to minimise risks and optimise outcomes.
You will be an experienced professional with full programme lifecycle management of large transformational change programmes in excess of £40m, such as a complete Finance or, People or Supply Chain or Buying & Merchandising package based applications encompassing taking stakeholders on the change journey, managing successful programmes, defining programme frameworks, setting up governance, project organisation structures, defining roles and responsibilities, budget management, delivery partner selection, stage gating delivery to successful completion of hyper-care and transition to a business as usual operating state. You will also have;
- 12-15 years of relevant experience in technology and programme management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Extensive experience in technology programme management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
- Excellent leader and trusted advisor with extensive experience of developing senior business relationships
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams towards achieving project goals while fostering collaboration and teamwork.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering high-quality results within defined timelines/budgets.
- Knowledge of industry-specific technologies and trends.
