Start Date: 1st April 2024
Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) seeks a highly motivated Senior Programme Manager to provide support to a new, two-year Wellcome Trust institutional research culture funded (IRCF) project. The project will address capacity gaps in research management skills, which perpetuate power imbalances between partners in the Global North and South, and evaluate approaches to share best practice and reduce loss of knowledge that is frequently a consequence of short-term funding cycles. The Senior Programme Manager will be responsible for delivery of key activities in this scheme, in addition to supporting the overall management of the project.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in this exciting new project, reporting to the Dean of Research Culture and Integrity but working closely with the Management Board of the project in Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe and the UK. This position can be based from our UK site, or any of our locations across Malawi, Kenya or Zimbabwe and we are interested in talking to candidates who may be looking for part-time or job share opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
Programme Management of IRCF project
Facilitate the strengthening of research management skills in LSTM and partner organisations.
Lead discussions on how to develop and retain cross disciplinary expertise within the consortia.
