Job description
The Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) is seeking to recruit a Senior Programme Manager who will work as part of the SDG Impact Lab. The SDG Impact Lab was created in 2021 to enable graduate students from Oxford University to collaborate with external partners to deliver the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This new role is an exciting opportunity to manage the delivery of our 2024 partnership programmes. It will involve working closely with both the partners and students to deliver high quality impact research projects. The Senior Programme Manager will work under the direction of the Lab’s Chief Operating Officer and in consultation with the two Lab co-founders and directors. The role will also involve the supervision of Project Coordinators who will provide additional support for the student projects. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree) or have equivalent relevant work experience. They will also have the ability to establish positive, collaborative working relationships, with evidence of managing senior level client relationships as well as developing a strong rapport with the Lab’s cohort of graduate Fellows. Excellent communication skills, including writing and presenting reports and project summaries, and contributing to the Lab’s wider social media, marketing, and content creation are essential to this role. This post is full time and fixed-term until 30 November 2024 with the potential to extend the contract until November 2025. At ODID we embrace and cherish our differences, and endeavour to be considerate and welcoming of all. You are most welcome at ODID, without the need to hide any part of who you are. We acknowledge societal inequalities and how these affect us, and those around us, personally and professionally. We hold an Athena Swan bronze award in recognition of our efforts to introduce organisational and cultural changes which promote equality, cherish diversity and create a better working environment for all. We are also taking active steps to promote race equality and reduce the risk of bias and discrimination. We work together to enrich, fortify and grow our community and dedicate our combined efforts to teaching and research to increase our impact and influence in development debates at the national and global level. We encourage all eligible candidates to apply for our vacancies and join us in pursuing our goals. Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.
