Senior Project Controller (Cost) – SC Cleared
Whitehall Resources currently require an experienced Senior Project Controller to work with a key client.
*PLEASE NOTE – this role has been deemed INSIDE IR35 and will be a hybrid opportunity*
The Role:
As a Senior Project Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary, you’ll be working on supporting the delivery of vital communication systems. Your work will directly contribute to shaping the future of communication systems within defence.
Day to day, you’ll be supporting the Project Controls Manager in providing project cost control and change management services across the programme (circa £100m+).
The Senior Project Controller will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of the programme from initiation to completion. This includes the development, implementation and refinement of effective cost control measures, such as cost forecasting, cost variance analysis and performance evaluation, to ensure that the project remains on track financially against the approved budget. The Senior Project Controller will collaborate closely with teams to develop cost estimates and forecasts, identifying potential risks and variance that may impact the Estimate to Complete (ETC). The role will also be responsible for assessing and managing the financial impact of changes in project scope, requirements, or objectives, and updating the forecasts accordingly. The Senior Project Controller will also be responsible for ownership and management of our change management process, supported by the relevant functions and supporting the Project Controls Manager to ensure our application of project controls are integrated and feeding one another to effectively support project delivery.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Assisting the team in all aspects of Project Cost Control
* Prepare and deliver all necessary internal and external cost control reports and documentation.
* Provide key input into the production and management of Control Account Plans, including establishing basis of estimates and cost related assumptions and dependencies.
* Collate, organise, and present the necessary data to enable Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting.
* Provide the necessary input to enable Cost Risk Analysis (CRA)
* Coordinate and develop project/programme spend projections, cost reconciliations and variance analysis.
* Coordinate and develop project work-in-progress (WIP), commitment and estimate at complete (EAC) forecasts.
Experience:
* Considerable experience in the advanced application of Project Management techniques in a relevant technical project environment across the full project lifecycle
* Previous experience on complex defence and/or telecommunication projects/programmes (desirable, but not essential)
* Ability to champion high performance and inspire others
* Experience in the application of SRA/CRA and EVM
* Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of contract and commercial management
* Experience managing change processes and formally driving and identifying the need for change through application of integrated project controls
* Experience working with senior level managers both internally and externally.
* APM PMQ, Chartered status or equivalent (advantageous)
* PPC Practitioner
