We are looking for a Project Engineer with a strong background in engineering and project management to take on the responsibility of delivering complex projects within the offshore industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in project delivery, cost control, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a self-motivated individual who is capable of leading a team and managing multiple aspects of project execution.
Day-to-day of the role:- Take ownership of projects post-handover, ensuring successful final offshore installation, cost control, on-time delivery, and high customer satisfaction.
- Deliver significant and complex work against a defined project plan within agreed timeframes.
- Act as a line manager for staff, supporting their development and providing coaching.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for complex and valuable projects, liaising with clients, third-party bodies, and internal departments.
- Manage project schedules, identify critical path items, and ensure QA/QC elements are captured.
- Mentor graduates and Project Engineers, developing their skills and competence.
- Maintain accurate financial management systems for individual projects, highlighting forecast variations promptly.
- Prepare project documentation and ensure all project “gates” are met.
- Lead Project Kick-Off meetings and actively participate in Design reviews.
- Present project progress to Directors and undertake HAZID and HAZOP meetings as necessary.
- Manage project cash flow, supplier relationships, and provide technical guidance to Sales and Operations.
- HNC/ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Structural), Mathematics, or Physics with a minimum 2:2 classification.
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant role, including offshore operations.
- Strong IT skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organization and accuracy.
- 8+ years of experience in a similar role within the offshore industry.
- Experience with offshore structures, drilling, and subsea equipment.
- APM/Prince2/Six Sigma or similar project management qualification.
- Mentoring qualification and experience.
