Job Title: Senior Proposition Manager

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Edinburgh or Alderley Edge

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Within the RLG UK business, we have c.6 million policies (spread across pension, protection, savings & investment, and annuity products) that belong to our Long Standing Customers (LSC). These customers play a central role in RLG’s success and the ability to achieve our Purpose whilst delivering our strategy. We support the long-term financial resilience of our long-standing customers, many of whom are vulnerable, by ensuring excellent service and positive outcomes.

 

The Senior Proposition Manager Long Standing Customer has responsibility for ensuring we continue to provide good outcomes in respect of our products and propositions in line with Consumer Duty.

 

You will oversee day to day management of the end-to-end long standing customer propositions, linked to the overall business area strategy, managing the impact of change on propositions to ensure efficiency and consistency across life stages and products. You will also provide product technical excellence and specialist knowledge, including regulatory, market and competitor landscape.

 

This role is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in driving and shaping the outcomes delivered for our long standing customers.

 

About the role

 

  • Responsible for ensuring LSC deliver good outcomes across all LSC propositions in line with Consumer Duty and LSC Strategy.
  • Ensures there is an effective, robust risk and control framework for LSC Propositions, ensuring risks are mitigated in line with risk appetite.
  • Provides strategic direction into wider Group proposition projects ensuring LSC are represented, working with colleagues across the business.
  • Prepares and presents papers for various committees, summarise issues and provides recommendations for solutions.
  • Supplies senior management expertise to partnering business areas.
  • Manages colleagues in the team, ensuring LSC deliver great performance through motivating and engaging them, developing their capability and by living the Spirit of Royal London Leadership Principles and values.

 

About you

 

  • Ability to translate broader business strategy into functional (proposition) strategy and create clear direction for the team.
  • Ability to influence at a senior level, based on solid understanding of products, strategy and business direction, and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong focus on delivery with proven experience of creating partnership relationships, working with stakeholders to agree priorities, secure and align resource.
  • Understanding of financial services industry and products and the associated legislative/regulatory frameworks.
  • Expertise of championing the end consumer and an understanding of great customer outcomes.
  • Experience of management of propositions with a range of complex features within a hybrid servicing model, in line with Risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Can inspire others to adapt to change / show positive attitude to change.
