Job description

Overview of the role

Work as part of the Bestway Healthcare sales leadership team to develop and implement commercial sales propositions and strategies for the Bestway Medhub product range and services portfolio across all customer channels. Take ownership of commercial performance and strategy ensuring development pipeline of new propositions in line with company strategy.

Drive new growth through proposition decision-making by being the expert in relevant data and analytics.  Act as a link between the sales teams and procurement functions, managing the demands of each to achieve the best results for the overall business.

Main Responsibility

  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical wholesale market and propositions, UK pharmacy landscape and DHSC priorities
  • Management of National Field sales team of Bestway Medhub representatives
  • Develop, maintain and grow product propositions and campaigns for the generic, PI, OTC and surgical wholesale categories in collaboration with the procurement and sales teams – a portfolio of c4k lines
  • Working with other senior managers to be responsible for margin rate performance on sales in excess of £100m as well as key efficiency metrics ie. basket size and tote fill
  • Improve the service proposition pipeline to add additional value to customers and the wholesale business
  • Be the owner for the Medhub CRM system, ensuring robust data sources and management dashboards are maintained in order to provide segmented customer insights and opportunities to all wholesale colleagues
  • Develop and manage accurate forecasting using internal and external data metrics in conjunction with anticipated market trends
  • Conduct external benchmarking measures on price, market share performance and availability in order to maximise Medhub customer engagement and competitiveness.
  • Contribute to the growth plan for the Wardle’s Business

Key knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • Extensive knowledge of the UK pharmaceutical wholesale market
  • Ability to work cross functionally with sales, buying and other teams in large organisation
  • Is able to lead, motivate and coach others both as direct reports, but also indirect reports
  • Comfortable with producing, reviewing and adapting business forecasting process
  • Can think strategically up to 1-3 years in advance
  • Drive team members knowledge and support / develop systems fit for purpose
  • Advanced skills in database, CRM (Salesforce) and Excel software
