As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be a subject matter expert and coach for ensuring robust engineering design through Jaguar Land Rover’s Product Development Process with a strong focus on Dependability. Your role will be to join the Engineering Excellence team to drive and support our Engineering Quality strategy to become the automotive industry world leader by setting benchmarks in Quality, Satisfaction and Reliability through sustainable and innovative luxury products. 

Key Performance Indicators

• Failure Mode Avoidance maturity level
• Forward model programme quality metrics for FMEA, DRBFM & Evidence Based Engineering Review EBER
• Quality team efficiency improvement

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Dependability Process Development with a focus on Quality of Event
• Support Application of Failure Mode Avoidance in a Dependability context.
• Coach and mentor individuals or teams on tool selection and application on both upcoming and existing projects
• Lead transformation projects to improve Dependability & Failure Mode Avoidance processes across Product Engineering
• Prevent Recurrence measures and Lessons Learnt Implementation
• Provide technical expertise for the application and integration of Failure Mode Avoidance  into new and existing processes where appropriate
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential :–

• Significant experience in Failure Mode Avoidance in a large multi-national organisation.
• Extensive experience of increasing responsibility in a variety of Product Engineering environments focused primarily on complex electro-mechanical-software integrated product architectures used in the automotive industry
• Significant experience in supporting Product Development projects and organisations from concept to launch
• Ability to evaluate and align Failure Mode Avoidance with Quality Management System standards and requirements; defend actions and results under audit if required.
• Strong people and leadership skills, with the ability to work individually and in a cross functional team
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
