The purpose of this role is to lead the Quality Engineering practice across our technology infrastructure estate. The role holder will take the lead on shaping the infrastructure testing strategy, tooling and processes leveraged throughout Santander UK and partner across the broader Testing Centre Of Excellence (CoE) technology domains as well as Santander Group.
The difference you’ll make:
Building an infrastructure testing framework(s) to ensure the highest quality of delivery and operational change
Leading and managing a team of Infrastructure Quality Engineers, aligned to supporting the day-to-day implementation of technology change
Owning and shaping a roadmap of change that embeds improved process and tooling throughout the organisation
Representing Infrastructure, as part of a broader Testing CoE, driving improved quality as a result, highlighting the quality and standard of engineering skills needed to move towards a defined technology architecture across the testing domain
Liaising with Architecture to develop a framework that ensures clear decision making that assesses new solutions against alignment or convergence from the target roadmap
Liaising with Technology leadership to evolve the Quality Engineering domain and organisational construct, ensuring it continually meets the needs of the business
What you’ll bring:
A proven track record of leading a Quality Engineering domain with results that demonstrate the desire to help simplify, standardise and automate Quality Engineering practises
Skilled and knowledgeable across Quality Engineering practises comprising infrastructure & application, including both Datacentre & Public Cloud
Hands on ability across all aspects of Non-Functional testing, with clear understanding of the necessary tooling and processes required to help achieve improved reliability of infrastructure change
SME knowledge of industry leading testing tools, covering both performance and integration tests
Able to troubleshoot complex testing scenario’s prior to production rollout
Comfortable collaborating across your Infrastructure peer group and engineering delivery alongside influencing senior leadership on integration of testing best practise and standards
It would also be nice for you to have:
Experience working within a regulated industry, ideally financial sector
Experience working within large scale, complex, technology environments

1st Stage – A 30 min virtual session with Hiring Manager to confirm eligibility to proceed to next stage.
2nd Stage – Covering technical and competency-based questions
3rd Stage – An hour-long face to face interview at our Unity Place office, Milton Keynes covering additional technical questions and 15 min presentation relating to scenario question (supplied before the interview).
