Overview

At Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) we provide integrated energy solutions that deliver cost efficiency, resilience and accelerate our customers' journeys to a low carbon future. In Centrica Energy Assets (CEA) within CBS we are building a 1GW portfolio of flexible energy generation assets including solar, battery and hydrogen ready peaking plants to help drive the transition to Net Zero.

We are building our commercial function in CEA as we grow our pipeline of generation projects. The Senior Quantity Surveyor role is an additional role to the business.

Travel Requirements - Occasional travel to other Centrica sites and projects in UK and Europe. Unrivalled flexible working.

The Role

You'll work on several energy generation infrastructure projects managing contracts with third parties and intercompany agreements. To do this you will review commercial terms and ensure contractual obligations are executed in the timely and safe manner to successfully deliver projects in line with budgets and programmes.

Working as the interface between the project team/third parties and the internal/external legal teams you will manage contractual communications including dealing with contract drafting, valuations, variations and contractual disputes, working to both FIDIC and NEC contract arrangements.

You'll help the origination team with budget project pricing and stay up to date with market intelligence to ensure the origination team is provided with current pricing/trends.

Managing and reporting on contracts, developing project cost forecasting and tracking project costs will be a critical part of your role. To do this you will need to track purchase orders and ensure the correct project governance standards are being applied.

Lastly, your help suggest corrective actions to improve project performance.

The Person

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This experience would ideally be from asset-based industries, energy generation but we will also consider candidates from other sectors.

You'll need experience in contract administration and contract management (Pre and Post Contract). FIDIC and/or NEC contract experience and previous estimating experience desired.

You will be an exceptional communicator who has a track record of influencing and nurturing strategic partnerships.
