Hours: Full time - 35 Hours per week (Permanent)

Salary: GBP46,515

Reporting to: Property Delivery Manager

About the Role

The Senior Repairs Surveyor role will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of maintenance activities in the Western region. Your duties include conducting a range of inspections and the management of one main contractor. Within your region you will oversee repairs from inception to completion, ensure that the organisation is providing a good service in all aspects of responsive, cyclical, and major repairs to tenanted and void properties. Management of maintenance contractors in line with our client's contract management framework including any areas of performance improvement and hold weekly meetings with the contractor. To facilitate your responsibilities access to a car is required for regular travel across the region, with occasional overnight stays, Additionally, your role involves active participation in the out of hours on call rota, ensuring continuous coverage. Furthermore, the role entails a crucial responsibility for ensuring strict compliance with accessibility standards, monitoring budget, and upholding the highest standards of Health and Safety in line with H&S regulations.

About You

Our client is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Repairs Surveyor to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth delivery of their repairs and maintenance service, contributing to the overall wellbeing of tenants. You will be up to date with current building and H&S legislations, as well as a sound understanding in procurement routes in Housing.

The ideal candidate will possess a HNC in construction or building.

The ability to draft tender documents will be an advantage, as well as prepare basic construction drawings and specifications, although these are not essential to the role.

Excellent customer care and communication skills are essential for this role. You will need to be calm in your nature and confident in your practices. There will be regular travel involved and the occasional emergency call out, so a clean driving license is essential as well as a clear enhanced DBS.
