Senior Reporting Accountant
South Coast based with hybrid working, circaGBP55k.
We are delighted to be supporting an engineering business with the recruitment of a qualified professional from a top accountancy practice to join their team as a Reporting Accountant.
This is a brand-new role due to growth and will encompass both Financial Reporting and Control across one of their divisions and FP&A reporting for a business unit.
The role will include:
- Supporting the Financial Reporting manager with preparation and review of technical accounting papers
- Assist with year-end audit packs and associated year-end appendices.
- Assist with the preparation of the half year and year end governance packs
- Being a key driver in delivering a rolling assurance programme for compliance with the divisional governance and controls framework
- Reviewing the implementation of accounting policies, ensuring adherence.
- Provide FP&A service support to a business unit as required to include month end reporting and commentary, working capital analysis, cash flow analysis, budget, rolling re-forecast and strategic plan reports and presentations.
- Work closely with the business unit finance teams to improve processes and efficiency.
- Supporting teams with accounting technical queries and providing solutions to complex issues Working closely with individual lines of business to implement specific initiatives to improve the underlying quality and efficiency of the financial processes and controls and alignment with Finance business services teams.
About you:
We re seeking a fully qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant who is looking for a move from a large professional practice into commerce or who is seeking their second role post professional practice.
Candidates should be able to understand and manipulate data to present clear and concise financial messages for review. Strong systems skills are essential as is the ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are required as is the ability to influence and negotiate to ensure key decisions, deadlines and targets are met.
We re seeking a positive-minded, ambitious, self-starter who can define and satisfy the demands of stakeholders and customers of the process through consolidation of information, interpretation of the results and the presentation of the results in a manner that supports and challenges the business.
1-2 days required on site per week, with some travel required to other UK sites occasionally.
