Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Research and Development Engineer to join our ground breaking clean, green energy team!

This role will be a Hybrid role, allowing you to split your time between out office in Turo and working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage products on the company range plan
  • Utilize sound engineering practices, including Design for Manufacture and Risk Management.
  • Manage outsourced work with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Understand and enhance current product range designs.
  • Produce and verify CAD drawings, documentation, and technical reports.
  • Conduct and supervise mechanical-based analysis, development, and design of products and equipment.
  • Lead Engineering Change Projects, ensuring outcomes align with the change board's objectives.
  • Project management, ensuring completion on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Line management and supervision of a small team of Engineers.
  • Manage project plans, risks, and requirements effectively.
  • Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and experience.
  • Communicate with department stakeholders and provide support across the company.
  • Continuously develop knowledge and understanding in relevant fields of learning

Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the engineering sector.
  • Proven track record of managing high-value projects independently.
  • Experience in collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Expertise in managing change through engineering change processes.
  • Previous experience in designing for manufacture, preferably in metalwork design for high-volume manufacturing.

Education:

  • Degree educated in an appropriate course or equivalent qualifications.

Skills:

-Strong project management skills, with excellent time management and organizational abilities.

-Capable of leading a team of junior Engineers.

-Proficient in writing concise technical reports.

-Comprehensive understanding of applied physics

-Familiarity with Systems Engineering is desirable.
