We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised person to join the Stroke Research Team, one of the largest stroke research teams in the world, to undertake patient-centred applied research to transform care and outcomes.
The post holder will also contribute to the research profile of the University by conducting world-leading research in Stroke Research Team. The post holder will be supported by experienced researchers, whilst further developing their own skills and experience in health research.
The post holder will, with support from existing colleagues and Director, lead the delivery of the Lancashire research Institute For Global Health and Wellbeing (LIFE). The post holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the Institute working alongside experienced colleagues.
The Institute supports, encourages and enables the development of high quality, impactful, transdisciplinary, internationally significant research partnerships and studies focussed on health and wellbeing. Working with existing departments and structures within UCLan, and with external organisations, the post-holder will ensure that effective systems and processes are in place within UCLan to potentiate research and to ensure global health and wellbeing research funding awards are managed well. The post-holder will participate in research, teaching, management and leadership activities to enhance the profile of the Institute and support the wider activities within the University.
The successful applicant will hold a Doctorate in Health. They should have the proven ability or potential to generate external funding (grants, contracts, etc.) to support high-quality research projects and previous experience of bidding for research project funding from major funding sources (e.g. research councils, European union, major charities, government).
The successful applicant will have collaboration and networking skills as well as planning and organisational skills and be able to produce high quality research outputs of 3* (international quality) or 4* (world-leading level) that have significant impact in the field, for publication in monographs or recognised high-quality journals, as appropriate.
