Job description

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Research Fellow in Social Policy and/or Sociology to join the recently established Healthy Lifespan Institute (HELSI), a pan-University Institute covering all five Faculties. During your first five years, you would focus almost exclusively on developing your research programme within the context of HELSI, pursuing opportunities for high profile external grants, producing an array of high-quality publications, supporting early career researchers, and exploring opportunities for interdisciplinary partnership building and knowledge exchange within HELSI and externally, while demonstrating the impact of your research. Both HELSI and the Department of Sociological Studies are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and we particularly welcome applications from currently under-represented groups, including candidates who are from black, Asian and minoritised ethnic and refugee backgrounds; who are LGBTQ+; who are living with disabilities. What We Offer 41 days annual leave (including closure days and Bank Holidays), with the possibility to purchase up to ten additional days. Up to 5 days of paid time off to cover emergency caring responsibilities. A commitment to work life balance including, flexible working opportunities and hybrid working where possible.
