Calling all Team Leaders and Senior Residential Support Workers!

Reed Health and Care are excited to bring the role of Senior Residential Support Worker for our client to the market. Our client is a provider of residential childcare services in the North East of England. They are looking to grow their team with additional people at a team leader level.

Role: Senior Residential Care Worker
Location: Barnard Castle or Staindrop
Pay: £12.50 per hour (roughly £24,375 per annum)
Contract and Hours: Permanent - Full Time

Reporting the registered manager, the successful candidate will actively promote the rights of young people as individuals and provide them with quality care in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation and regulators, while taking a leading role guiding and supporting the other staff on shift.

Some of the key tasks you will undertake:

  • Lead the team of children’s residential care workers while on shift
  • Promote a positive and healthy lifestyle for each young person
  • Attend to the physical needs of the young person
  • Protect the young person from harm and follow safeguarding guidelines
  • Work as part of a team and be involved in handovers and regular staff meetings
  • Monitor all paperwork is completed and up to date while on shift and address any issues where needed

In return for your hard work, the successful candidate will receive:

To be successful in securing this role, you must:

  • Qualified to Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • A minimum of GCSE Grase A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Have a Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Have at least 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years of working with children or young people
  • Good knowledge of care planning and procedures
  • Have experience of working with professional agencies
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Emotionally resilient, reliable, and professional

The successful candidate will be required to complete a full DBS check and register for the update service. Reference checks will be completed prior to employment star and employment will be subject to 6 month probation period.
