Senior Safety Consultant

We have an excellent opportunity for a SENIOR SAFETY CONSULTANT based in Preston, with our Client in the Nuclear sector.
Hybrid Working applicable but there must be some regular presence onsite
Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years worth of UK residency).

JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide Radiological and possibly Chemotoxic Safety Assessment support to delivery of numerous projects across the portfolio of projects.
You should also be SQEP to lead HAZOP meetings.
Projects are likely to include support for a wide variety of projects for customers within our Clients facility, as well as the potential to help deliver some CapEx projects.
The successful Candidaate will work as part of a team and will be responsible for delivering specifically scoped tasks within a larger suite of assessments.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide expert knowledge of Radiological Safety Assessment including being up to date with developments in methodology and approach.
Technical delivery of projects to time, cost, quality, value and service requirements.
Provide Radiological Safety assessment support to multi-disciplinary teams.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Degree qualified or equivalent level of demonstrable technical capability.
SQEP 3 with 6-10 years experience in Safety Assessment.
Preferably Chartered Membership of a professional institution.
Excellent level of knowledge in the specialised field of Safety Assessment, including
knowledge of Sellafield Ltd Methodology.
Detailed knowledge of advanced techniques.
Proven ability to act independently, under own initiative, while supervising other members of the team.
Strong communication skills, including multi-site working.
Excellent team-working skills.
