Medical Research Charity Seeks Passionate Senior Data Engineer to Fuel Drug Discovery!

In this role, you'll:

• Build and maintain high-performance computing environments, including VMs, databases, and license servers.
• Explore cutting-edge software and develop automated workflows to streamline data capture, integration, visualization, and analysis.
• Design and implement data visualization tools and applications to bring insights to life.
• Establish efficient data pipelines to seamlessly transfer data from lab instruments to internal systems.
• Collaborate closely with IT and data scientists to identify and solve technical challenges.
• Proactively seek out new technologies with the potential to revolutionize drug discovery.
• Communicate effectively across all levels, from technical experts to non-technical colleagues.
• Influence and persuade others to adopt innovative solutions.
• Ensure optimal system performance for maximum efficiency.

We're looking for someone with the following skills/experience:

• First/higher degree in a relevant discipline e.g., cheminformatics, bioinformatics, computer science or equivalent experience

• Evidence via vocational qualifications of expertise in relevant areas of technology (not essential)

• Expertise working with Linux, familiarity with Windows-based systems

• Familiar with database setup and access (fluent in SQL)

• Scripting/programming skills in Python, Bash, or R
