  • Job Title: Senior Scientist
  • Location: Cambridge
  • Contract: 9 months
  • Rate: £200 per day
  • Hours:5 hours

SRG are currently working with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Cambridge, looking for a Senior Scientist to join their team.

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to help support a project to develop a novel technology in order to improve next-generation modalities in their application to pre-clinical programs.

The successful candidate will add to the team of multidisciplinary and passionate scientists excited by research at the interface between technology, chemistry and biology.

They will be a well-organized and a highly productive bench scientist that can design and execute experiments efficiently, as well as analyse, interpret, and present data. The role will require the candidate to apply cell-based bioassays skill sets, with a focus on antibody internalization and intracellular trafficking, as well as live-imaging cytotoxicity assays.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • A Ph. D level scientist, with/without post-doctoral experience, or Batchelor's degree with equivalent experience in cell-based bioassays, cancer biology and cell biology.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience in a variety of in vitro cell-based methods and technologies that can be applied in oncology research e.g., growth inhibition/toxicity assays, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence staining with high-content microscopy, internalization assays and flow cytometry.
  • Ability to optimize protocols, troubleshoot, interpret experimental results/data and maintain accurate, high quality and up-to-date experimental records.
  • Strong communication skills in a team environment and an ability to quickly learn and embrace new technologies.

Desired Skills:

  • Good knowledge of cancer biology and targeted delivery systems e.g antibody-drug conjugates.
  • Hands-on experience in protein expression and bioconjugation.
  • Strong publication record.
