Job description

Are you an ambitious, experienced, diligent and hardworking Social Worker ready to step up in your career? Are you interested in working within a team that is committed to providing an exceptional and integral service to the South Lincolnshire communities, where you can make a real difference? If so, then The Adult Frailty South Team at Lincolnshire County are looking to help you develop.

Currently we have a vacancy for Senior (Level 2) Social Workers in our Stamford/Bourne, Sleaford, Spalding and South review Teams. With one part-time (30hrs) post in Spalding.

About You

We are looking for Social Workers who are fully adept with either several years of post-qualifying experience OR at least one year (ASYE completed) of post-qualifying experience BUT considerable experience within a Social Care setting.

Successful candidates will need to be motivated, team players and dedicated to delivering the best service possible. Committed to taking on the challenges of working within an Area Team and interested in investigating and developing new ways of working to enable vulnerable people to live to their potential.

It goes without saying that a Social Work Qualification and Registration with Social Work England are essential along with tact, diplomacy and sensitivity.

You’ll need to be organised, a good timekeeper and resilient. Good report writing skills are a must, as is the ability to establish and maintain good partnerships with other agencies.

Above all else you will need to have passion for the role and be dedicated to supporting those in need.

This opportunity will cover a wide geographical area and as such it is essential that you have the means to travel as required for the role.

A full person specification is available within the Job Description which is attached on the LCC site.

PLEASE NOTE: It is imperative that your personal statement clearly states why you have applied, how you meet the essential and desirable criteria for the role as set out in the Job Description (attached on LCC jobs Site) and what you feel you can bring to this role, the team and the wider County Council.

About the Role

Lincolnshire adult care are leading the way (quite literally; we have the highest CQC score in the country) in how the lives of vulnerable adults with a physical disability or elderly frail and their families are changed to enable longer independence and connecting to the important resources local communities have to offer.  This has been noticed by other authorities who are wanting to know more about the conversation model and strength based approach we utilise here at Lincolnshire County Council.

The work of the South Area teams involves having conversations with vulnerable adults and their support networks to understand what their goals are, what is important to them, what they aspire to and what they want to change. We will help you learn the new skills required to undertake these more co-productive conversations which will not only aid you in the work you do but also in everyday life.

Our teams continue to face challenges, but we are really proud that we’ve still continued to provide high quality services to our local residents. We continue to strive for more creative ways of improving services and relationships with other partners, such as the NHS and care providers.

The South Area teams are continually committed to the principles of choice, independence and personalisation.

About the Team

There are 16 team members in Stamford/Bourne, 13 in Sleaford and 18 in Spalding all of which comprise a mixture of Social Workers and Community Care Officers.

This is what one of our Social Workers have to say about working in the team;

“Stamford, Sleaford and Spalding are diverse market towns with a multi-cultural mix of residents. There is a great team vibe here and you know you have the support of your colleagues and management whatever circumstances may arise.”

The South of Lincolnshire is situated on the borders of Nottingham, Leicestershire, Rutland, Cambridge and Peterborough and within 30- 45mins drive from these counties.

Please take a look at the attached brochure for more detail on the individual teams and the service as a whole.

About our Offer

There are regular team meetings, and opportunities to get together either face to face or virtually for peer support and to help maintain your wellbeing. We will help you learn new skills such as having more co-productive conversations which will not only aid you in the work you do but also in everyday life. We encourage you to enjoy your day-to-day, your development and work with you to reach your potential…all within a friendly and welcoming environment.

Along with a competitive salary we are offering;

  • A Contributory pension
  • Comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes and cycle to work
